On October 20-21, 2018, I will be riding around Galveston Bay in the 12th annual Bike Around the Bay cycling event. I am riding to support the largest and most productive bay in Texas. Galveston Bay provides amazing recreational and tourism opportunities like boating, fishing and bird watching while also supporting an important commercial fishing industry that puts Galveston Bay shrimp, oysters and blue crab on our dinner plates. It also serves as the home for a large amount of industrial activity including shipping and refining that drives our local economy.
